Georgia Snow Sequence
Acryla-gouache on rough watercolor paper
12 x 16 inches
After the harvest, the cotton bales wait to be picked up and transported to the cotton gin. After the harvest, the earth waits for the farmers to clear the ground and spread their cover crop—a way of nourishment to prepare for the next planting season. After the harvest, the farmers wait in anticipation of the fruits of their labor. There is this brief pause in the sequence of cotton farming, right after the harvest, where surrender, anticipation, dreams, and returning to the tasks at hand meet.
