Pomegranate Season

Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas

50 x 26 inches

Pomegranate Season was inspired by my trip to Armenia several years ago. Pomegranates ripen in the Caucasus in November, and then all the markets, courtyards, and tables become a pomegranate kingdom. The pomegranate tree has long been a symbol of life, and the juicy red fruit symbolizes the warm and tender human heart, which can contain thousands of little hearts of every person on Earth. Every tiny pomegranate seed can give new life. In Armenia, the pomegranate is a symbol of God’s divine gift to man.
